Reflection: Uncle Paul by Justin

Created by Linda & Chris 2 years ago

Now Uncle Paul has gone it has made me reflect on how much he was involved in my life from a young age.

A man of few words, but easy to talk to about different things. Most recently we spoke a lot about sport as I know this was something he enjoyed to watch. He always had an interest in films I remember helping him order dvds every Sunday as he needed my help with the internet.

From a young age I remember uncle always being there to celebrate my birthday and would take me to choose my presents and as always he was always generous. He was always there at Christmas which was nice and would bring Chloe along too.

I think uncle was a very private person, but someone you could easily have a conversation with.

I would speak to uncle on the phone and I think he enjoyed the conversations especially in the last few years with the illness and pandemic.

I enjoyed the Thai restaurant in Harpenden and uncle putting on some lovely food for us as well as the Chippy in Sandy.

It is a shame he is now gone as he has been in my life for 36 years but I know that he is in a better place now.

I will miss him.
